What Kind of Fire Protection is right for you?

For most homes and many small businesses very effective fire protection may be achieved by incorporating wireless smoke detectors into the alarm system.

The most important point to realise about wireless smoke detectors (see picture below)  that are part of your alarm system is that you get to hear about the start of a fire even when you are away from the premises whereas stand-alone smoke detectors are virtually useless if you are not present – and how much of the time are you away from your home?

It’s easy and inexpensive to add fire protection into your alarm system.  Most homes only need one or two detectors.

Many Businesses and Public buildings are required by law or their insurers to have fire alarm systems that comply with BS5839.   We are able to supply systems that comply with BS5839 and are also able to link the fire system into our alarm system so that you have one simple and effective method of control and notification to use.  

If you have both systems installed at the same time there are further savings.

WARNING!

There has been a recent change to BS5839 which means that existing fire systems may no longer be compliant. Unfortunately, the change in regulations typically means that the existing wiring may be deemed substandard.   What this means is that you either need to rewire (using fire-proof cabling which is typically twice the price of ordinary cable) or you may switch to wireless detectors.
