Privacy statement

This site is owned and operated by GuardHome Limited. Your privacy on the Internet is of the utmost importance to us. At GuardHome, we want to make your experience online satisfying and safe. Because we gather certain types of information about our users, we feel you should fully understand the terms and conditions surrounding the capture and use of that information. This privacy statement discloses what information we gather and how we use it.

Your personal information

Because we believe in building a relationship with our customers, GuardHome collects personal information. We would like to make it clear that none of this information is sold, traded, rented or distributed to third parties. In fact we condemn such behaviour, because we dislike having our privacy invaded just as much as you do. We only store the personal information of people we do business with, and this information is recorded in a private, secure database that has no connection of any kind to the Internet. There are no circumstances where we would distribute your email address, and the only emails you will receive from us will be those in accordance with our business relationship. We hate spam, just as you do.

Usage tracking

GuardHome tracks user traffic patterns on our website. However, we do not correlate this information with data about individual users. GuardHome does break down overall usage statistics according to a user’s IP address (a user’s unique, but sometimes temporary, address on the Internet) and browser type by reading this information from the browser string (information contained in every user’s browser). We use tracking information to determine which areas of our site are preferred based on traffic to those areas. We do not track what individual users read, but rather how well each page performs overall. This helps us continue to build a better service for you.

Cookies

We may place a text file called a “cookie” in the browser files of your computer. The cookie itself does not contain any personal information, although it will enable us to relate your use of this site to information that you have specifically and knowingly provided. The only personal information a cookie can contain is information you supply yourself. A cookie cannot read data off your hard disk, or read cookie files created by other sites. GuardHome sometimes uses cookies to track user traffic patterns (as described previously).

You can refuse cookies by turning them off in your browser. If you’ve set your browser to warn you before accepting cookies, you will receive the warning message with each cookie. You do not need to have cookies turned on to use this site, though your experience may be impaired without them.
